Port-Cartier, QC · Private · ArcelorMittal Infrastructure Canada G.P · Gulf of St. Lawrence (St. Lawrence estuary, north shore)

Port-Cartier is one of the largest private ports in Canada, owned and operated by ArcelorMittal Infrastructure Canada G.P. (AMIC) on the north shore of the Gulf of St. Lawrence. The seaport handles the export of iron ore concentrate and pellets from ArcelorMittal's Mont-Wright mining complex, as well as raw materials, fuel and grain, shipping more than 26 million tonnes annually to international markets. It operates 365 days a year, receiving roughly 450 vessels per year (over 900 entry/exit maneuvers), and AMIC employs more than 600 specialized workers across the port and connected railway. A separate berth at the same harbour is operated by QSL, which handles dry bulk, forest products and general cargo (including grain), with a maximum wharf depth of 11.8 m.
