Port of Bécancour

Bécancour, QC · Provincial · Société du parc industriel et portuaire de Bécancour · St. Lawrence River (south shore)

The Port of Bécancour is a deep-water industrial port on the south shore of the St. Lawrence River, serving the adjacent Bécancour industrial-port park's petrochemical, chemical and metallurgical plants. It operates five main berths (B-1 through B-5, 150–292 m) plus a Ro/Ro facility, with a controlling water depth of 10.67 m (35 ft), and handles roughly 3.5 million tonnes of cargo across nearly 200 vessel calls per year — primarily dry bulk, steel, breakbulk and project cargo, plus liquid bulk transfer. The cargo terminal and longshoring/stevedoring are operated by QSL, with direct vessel-to-railcar transhipment via the connected CN rail network. The port complex is owned and managed by the Société du parc industriel et portuaire de Bécancour (SPIPB), a Quebec provincial development corporation, and is not a federal Canada Port Authority.
