Port of Portneuf

Portneuf, QC · Transport Canada · Transport Canada · St. Lawrence River (Fleuve Saint-Laurent)

The Port of Portneuf is a Transport Canada local/regional public port facility on the north shore of the St. Lawrence River, roughly 55-65 km upstream of Quebec City, listed as available for transfer under the federal Ports Asset Transfer Program (PATP). It consists of an approximately 85 m wharf with about 10.7 m of water depth; the wharf acts as a breakwater protecting a recreational marina built downstream of it. Portneuf's economy was historically tied to the river and forestry (sawmills, a shipyard and a paper mill) before the 1950s, and today the wharf/marina sector is the subject of municipal long-term tourism and socioeconomic enhancement projects, including river excursion-cruise pilots. The on-site marina is operated by the non-profit Corporation pour la mise en valeur du quai de Portneuf and offers roughly 87-98 slips, open mid-May to mid-October.
