Public Port of Natashquan
Natashquan, QC · Transport Canada · Transport Canada · Gulf of St. Lawrence (Jacques Cartier Strait), Lower North Shore
The Public Port of Natashquan is a Transport Canada-owned remote port facility on the north shore of the Gulf of St. Lawrence (Jacques Cartier Strait) in Quebec's Côte-Nord region, roughly 120 km east of Havre-Saint-Pierre. The wharf serves as a weekly cargo resupply call for the community, receiving general merchandise and petroleum products delivered by the cargo-passenger vessel Bella Desgagnés operated by Relais Nordik (Groupe Desgagnés), which serves isolated Lower North Shore villages from Rimouski to Blanc-Sablon. A small commercial fishing fleet also uses the port. As a TC remote port facility, it exists primarily because marine transportation is the primary mode of access for the community.
