Sandspit

Sandspit is a Transport Canada-owned public port classified as a "remote port facility" that serves communities where marine transportation is a primary mode of access. It is located on the northeast tip of Moresby Island in Haida Gwaii (Queen Charlotte Islands), on the tidal Pacific coast off Skidegate Inlet/Hecate Strait, providing community and regional marine access. The site supports recreational and commercial vessel activity, and the adjacent Sandspit Harbour (an 85-berth marina with year-round guest moorage, pump-out, launch ramp, showers and Wi-Fi) serves visitors heading to Gwaii Haanas National Park Reserve and Haida Heritage Site. It is a small-scale community port rather than a bulk-cargo terminal.
