Tilbury Marine Jetty (Tilbury Pacific)

Delta, BC · Private · Tilbury Jetty Limited Partnership · Fraser River (South Arm)

The Tilbury Marine Jetty (Tilbury Pacific) is a newly approved LNG marine terminal on Tilbury Island along the South Arm of the Fraser River in Delta, BC, roughly 21 km upstream from the river mouth and adjacent to the existing FortisBC Tilbury LNG storage and liquefaction plant. It provides berthing, mooring, an access trestle, and an LNG pipeline/vapour-return connection to the FortisBC plant to load liquefied natural gas onto LNG carriers and bunker vessels of up to about 100,000 cbm, serving as the first west-coast facility enabling trans-oceanic vessels to refuel with LNG bunker fuel in the Port of Vancouver as well as LNG export. The project is developed by Tilbury Jetty Limited Partnership, a partnership between affiliates of FortisBC and Seaspan, and received its BC Environmental Assessment Certificate on March 27, 2024 and federal approval on July 4, 2024. It sits outside any Canada Port Authority but within the Port of Vancouver shipping corridor.
