Tobermory, ON · Transport Canada · Transport Canada · Lake Huron / Georgian Bay (Bruce Peninsula)

Tobermory is a Transport Canada-owned public port at the northern tip of the Bruce Peninsula, classified by the federal Ports Program as a local/regional port facility serving a community with commercial marine activities. It is the mainland terminal of the MS Chi-Cheemaun ferry, which carries passengers, automobiles and buses (heavy/overweight commercial trucks are excluded) across Lake Huron / Georgian Bay between Tobermory and South Baymouth on Manitoulin Island, a crossing of roughly 1 hour 45 minutes during peak season. The ferry service and terminal are operated by the Owen Sound Transportation Company (OSTC), a Crown agency of the Government of Ontario, supporting community travel, commercial clients and a large seasonal tourism ridership (typically May through mid-October).
