Valero Jean Gaulin Refinery Marine Terminal

Lévis (Saint-Romuald), QC · Private · Valero Energy Inc · St. Lawrence River

Privately owned deep-water marine terminal serving Valero's Jean Gaulin Refinery in Lévis (Saint-Romuald), on the south shore of the St. Lawrence River across from Quebec City. The refinery — the second largest in Canada with a throughput capacity of roughly 235,000–265,000 barrels per day — receives crude oil by ship at its deepwater dock on the St. Lawrence (including North American crude shipped ~250 km up-river by Panamax tanker from Valero's Montreal East terminal) and by pipeline. Refined products (gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, home heating oil, butane and low-sulfur fuel oil) are distributed onward by tanker/coastal vessel to other Valero terminals in eastern Canada (e.g. Gaspé), as well as by pipeline, rail and truck. The terminal is a Green Marine participant and is operated entirely by Valero, outside the Quebec Port Authority's north-shore (Beauport) territory.
